Building Space Allocation

On occasion, whatIf? Technologies is asked to use its mathematical expertise and software tools to help solve problems in the domain of operations research. One such example is what might be called building space allocation problem. The problem involves a large organization that targets a reduction in the cost of providing building space for its employees.

Global Systems Simulator

The Global Systems Simulator (GSS), developed in the early 1990s, was originally intended to illustrate how design approach concepts could be applied in a specific problem domain and how a systems model could be realized using the whatIf? ® Modelling Platform.  The problem domain we chose for these purposes was that addressed in the Limits to Growth study by the MIT team lead by Dennis Meadows based on the World3 model developed by Jay Forrester.  Not only was this problem domain of widespread general interest, but our approach to socio-economic modeling had been influenced by the system dynamics approach used in World3.
